The inauguration of the new soccer field El Teso in Palacios de Sanabria (Zamora) was celebrated with a large gathering and marked a milestone for the region. The project was made possible thanks to close collaboration between the City Council, the Provincial Council, and Sunco, whose involvement was essential to completing an investment that revitalizes local life and promotes sports in rural areas.
The president of the Zamora Provincial Council, Javier Faúndez, highlighted the strategic value of this infrastructure as the centerpiece of a leading regional sports complex, and Mayor José Benedicto Ledesma emphasized that this will now be the home ground for Club Deportivo Atlético Sanabria. The honorary kick-off was given by Sanabria journalist Lucía Méndez Prada, and the Club Deportivo Atlético Sanabria and Deportivo Sayagués teams played the inaugural match.
These events consolidate a first-class sports complex in Palacios, which, in the words of the mayor, “will bring life to the town, especially in summer,” and he expressly thanked the institutional and business support, without which, he said, “this would not have been possible.”
